Objectives

The AMELIE project proposal, "Advanced framework for Manufacturing Engineering and product Lifecycle Enhancement," aims to innovate the manufacturing system by supporting and enhancing the creation of value-added systems through the optimization of integrated product lifecycle management.

Impact

The innovative results that the project has achieved consist of:

A platform for the ideation of new business opportunities

A set of enabling technologies to support the product lifecycle

A perceived quality model that allows for influencing and identifying product lifecycle best practices

The identification of innovative techniques for the management and creation of capabilities and skills

A virtual environment where human capital is valued in support of the business

A specialization of solutions for the mechatronics and micro/nanotechnology industrial supply chain through case studies.

The parties involved

The project was joined by major companies in the Sicilian industrial landscape: Arancia ICT s.r.l., CNR, Meridionale Impianti s.p.a., P.M.F. s.r.l., Irritec s.p.a., SDI Soluzioni d’impresa s.r.l., Xenia Progetti s.r.l., the University of Palermo, and the University of Catania, with the coordination of Engineering S.p.A.
