Legality and economic development - CdO and CEUR Meeting

2012-05-05 - News from  "La Sicilia".

Legality and economic development are issues analyzed from different points of view, from the magistrate to the enterpreneur, during the Meeting "The Law as a factor of economic development", promoted by Compagnia delle Opere and Fondazione CEUR in Catania: leading actors of the meeting were the Vice President of Consiglio Superiore della Magistratura Michele Vietti, the President of Confindustria Sicilia Ivan Lo Bello, the Vice President of Scuola Superiore della Magistratura Giuseppe Meliadò, the President of Meridionale Impianti Salvatore Raffa, Alberto Sciumè professor at the University of Brescia and the notary Carlo Saggio.

The economic development in the rescpect of legality is a question of culture, is the opinion of Raffa: "Simple, realistic and efficient. The Law should be this way in order to allow the economic growth. Bureaucracy becomes hostage to the real need of users and administrative regularity often does not coincide with the needs of the community. Transparency must be a cornerstone for the rispect of law; the avoidance of rules by creating other rules causes confusion and slows down the economy".
